About Us
Southlake's Trusted Flooring Specialists
Southlake Floors TX started 20+ years ago as a small family operation in Keller — one truck, one crew, and a simple promise: treat every floor like it's going in our own home. Two decades and 1,000+ DFW projects later, that promise still drives every job we touch.
We're a hands-on contractor — not a referral middleman, not a national franchise. The same team that quotes your job is the team that lays your floor. We handle hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, marble, laminate, refinishing, repairs, stairs, and outdoor flooring across Southlake, Keller, Grapevine, Colleyville, Frisco, Plano, Fort Worth, Dallas, and the wider DFW area.
- Licensed & insured installers
- Free in-home estimates
- Family-owned & operated

From one truck to 1,000+ DFW homes
What started with a single hardwood install in Keller in the early 2000s has grown into one of DFW's most-referred flooring teams — but the way we work hasn't changed.
We turned down chances to scale into a national franchise because every shortcut we'd take to grow fast — subcontracted crews, salesmen instead of installers, pressure-bid quotes — would mean a worse experience for the homeowner. So we stayed local. We stayed family-run. We trained our own installers, kept the same crew leads for over a decade, and built relationships with manufacturer reps that get us better warranty terms than most contractors can access.
The result: we still get calls from homeowners we worked with 12 years ago. Their floors still look great. And when they renovate the next room, they call us first.
What we promise on every job
-
A fixed price before we start The number on the quote matches the number on the invoice. No change-orders for things we should have caught at measure time.
-
Our own crew, every time No subcontractor handoffs. The face you meet at the estimate is the face that runs the install.
-
Honest material recommendations We'll tell you when a $4/sq ft LVP is the right call instead of $12/sq ft hardwood — even if it makes us less money.
-
A walk-through before payment Punch list every issue together. Final balance is paid only when you're 100% happy with the finished work.
Why DFW homes need a Texas-experienced installer
We design around DFW humidity swings
Indoor humidity in a typical Plano home moves from 28% in January to 65% in August. Solid wood expands and contracts measurably across that range. We acclimate every hardwood install 48–72 hours on-site, recommend whole-home humidifiers above 1,000 sq ft, and refuse to nail down material the day it arrives — even if the homeowner is in a rush.
We check for foundation movement first
The expansive clay soil under most DFW slabs swells and shrinks 1/4"–3/4" between wet and dry seasons. Before any hardwood or tile install, we laser-level the subfloor and apply self-leveling compound where needed. Skip this step and your grout cracks within a year.
We choose grout for hard water
DFW tap water is hard (130–180 ppm). Cement-based grout in showers and kitchens stains within months. We recommend epoxy grout for any wet area — it costs more but resists mineral buildup and stays the color you picked.
We position planks for southern sun
A south-facing room in DFW summer can hit 95°F surface temperature. We orient planks to minimize visible fade lines, recommend UV-resistant finishes for sun-heavy rooms, and steer clients away from materials we know will yellow.
We're close enough to come back
Based in Keller, we're 15–45 minutes from every home we install. If something needs adjustment a year later, we're back the next week — not "we'll have a crew in your area in 3 months."
We have local referrals you can verify
Ask any contractor for references in your neighborhood. We can usually give you 2–3 in your same subdivision. National franchises can't — their installers rotate cities every few months.
